I hate novocaine.

Me too, I have a numb spot on my face from novo shot when I had some dental work years ago.

Since then I have hated the stuff, I always have to be very gassed out in order to allow them to stick me with novo again, my old dentist was a gas doc and would always prescribe me 40 10mg hydros after everything but cleanings.

What the fuck kind of dentist gives you that much god dam hydro? I had toes amputated and barely got 40 T3's. Jesus fuck America.

When I was a youngster living in upstate NY years ago the neighbor in the apartment complex my family lived in had kidney stones, you could hear him scream when he passed them.

They really hurt that bad?

I had an anal fissure once. That was pretty terrible. Every time I pooped it was excruciating pain and blood.

The pain is not from passing the stone.  The pain is from the muscle spasms in your ureter caused by irritation.  Think internal charlie horse that never stops.  I have heard women who have given birth and had kidney stones who say the stones are worse.  When the ambulance came they asked me what the pain was and I said 9.9 because I don't give 10s.  They gave me a shot of morphine and asked again.  I said 9.5.  They gave me another shot.  I gave no shits anymore.

technically that's the worst pain one can get...save...maybe vivisection or live operation with no sedative or anesthesia.

The human experience is very interesting to me. There are a lot of things that are nearly universal truths, but there are plenty that are pretty unique and shape who people are. Even two people experiencing two negative things in their life the exact same may not agree on which one was worse. I like to get people's own perceptions. For instance there are quite a few really horrible experiences in my life I could've gone with, but most were only bad in that moment and was often short lived. Falling out the attic and landing dead square on my tailbone was one of the most painful experiences of my life and I recovered after a few days more or less, but having to drive for over an hour just to find out if my wife was still alive was vastly more painful to me, it's just a different kind of pain.

I think if I hadn't fucked myself in schooling and had the money to go to college, I would be highly tempted to pick a career based around getting to understand what makes people who they are. It never really gets old for me. I wouldn't say psychologist/psychiatrist because I'm not greatly interested in "fixing" people, I'm more or less only fascinated in understanding why they are the way they are.

I’m in no shape to be alone contrary to the shit that you might hear.
