me neither. I'm thinking of building a greenhouse to fruit oyster logs in but do you think it will have a big impact on yield? RH inside those polytubes must be pretty high.

Here is what I have reason to believe is the real deal. It has been a little slower than oyster, but I have a feeling, in the next 3-4 days it will speed up a bit.

I have transfered ?elm oyster? fro grain to the bag. Mycelium has same smell as sourdough. I wonder, what will be the smell of your strain?

You are absolutely correct. H. ulmarius is elm oyster. But I would be willing to bet my entire checking account ($42), that if you order elm oyster, or H. ulmarius from a vendor, you're gonna end up fruiting a Pleurotus. No, elm oysters are not what many would call a choice edible, but I like them, and have never seen them fruited by anyone on HWFP. It's just a project for me.

Dang, sourdough doesn't sound quite right to me. I'm thinking that could be a bacterial infection. Did you get your culture from a wild fruit or.....

Crazy, isn't it. They grow here in the fall too. Have a look around on the forums, and see what I'm talking about. If you know what an elm oyster looks like, and you obviously do, you'll be shaking your head. Also, search the vendor sites for elm oyster LCs and check out their pics on the advertising.
