Re: the American political spectrum [Re: Kurt]

there are some autistic people who outperform "normals".
there is an  autistic guy who learned the icelandic language in a week,
and an  autistic guy on whom the movie "rainman" was based who could read a different book with each eye and remember every word.
So ultimately the brain is a mystery .

As regards xenophobia my point was that yes animals naturally space themselves in their environments, and this is both advantageous for the individuals and the environment. Again only humans make up stories about this and attribute good and bad to others. Relaxed people can be comfortable around strangers who are also relaxed. Different societies vary in their aggressiveness.

In a very general way long term meditation practice tends to reduce aggression and increase friendliness. So folks who meditate may have an easier life than say those who are gang members.

Again I recommend Marvin Harris's books, for the anthropology, available for a penny, plus shipping on amazon. They are both a good read and highly informative.

It isn't just the brain that limits primate group size - (in my amateur opinion)-but the limitations of time & space that factor into the limit. It takes time to maintain good social relationships. Social relationships involve obligations. Primates engage in hours of grooming behavior to accomplish this, everyday - hence the title of Dunbar's book. Again I recommend going to the source material, I am just an old fellow who likes to read and think, not a scientist.

Not only humans differentiate bad and good. That's foolish to say. If anything humans enforce good and bad the least
