The second quote in my sig.

--------------------
Why should we strive with cynic frown
To knock their fairy castles down?  ~ Eliza Cook

It's rather embarrassing to have given one's entire life to pondering the human predicament and to find that in the end one has little more to say than, 'Try to be a little kinder.' ~Aldous Huxley

Many, but not all, hunter-gatherers have a notion of the giving environment, the idea that the land around them is their spiritual home and the source of all good things.  This view is the direct antithesis of the Judeo-Christian perspective of the natural environment as a “wilderness,” a hostile space to be subdued and brought to heel by the sheer force of human will.  This latter outlook is seen by many ecological humanists as the source of both the environmental crisis and the spiritual malaise afflicting contemporary society.  --John Gowdy

When he came to me

He was a tormented boy

Tormented by guilt

I tried to council him

But the eating. It filled him with white light

tearful, he swore to me that he felt the touch of God almighty

What the hell do you know?

I know it's pretty damn weird to eat people

He didn't just eat their bodies. He ate their souls

And I joined in

They were all whores

Nobody cared for them

Nobody'd miss them

What do you think of the essence of Hell? Hell is when the depths come to you with all that you no longer are or are not yet capable of Hell is when you can no longer attain what you could attain. Hell is when you must think and feel and do everything that you know you do not want. Hell is when you know that your having to is also a wanting to, and that you yourself are responsible for it. Hell is when you know that everything serious that you have planned with yourself is also laughable, that everything fine is also brutal, that everything good is also bad, that everything high is also low, and that everything pleasant is also shameful. But the deepest Hell is when you realize that Hell is also no Hell, but a cheerful Heaven, not a Heaven in itself, but in this respect a Heaven, and in that respect a Hell. That is the ambiguity of the God: he is born from a dark ambiguity and rises to a bright ambiguity. Equivocalness is simplicity and leads to death. But ambiguity is the way of life. If the left foot does not move, then the right one does, and you move. The God wills this.
-CG Jung

"In order to survive we have become participants in a religion. If a religion is a specific faith, the faith is, faith in the rational mind. And, therefore, we as professors or as rationalists become the priests in that particular faith system, which is a faith, after all. It's faith in the fact that what you know through your senses, through your thinking mind, and through the logic of your thinking mind, that that has anything to do with anything. That's a faith. There's nothing you can do about it, because you can never get outside of the predicament of knowing, independent of that faith."  --Ram Dass

Our bodies are prisons for our souls. Our skin and blood, the iron bars of confinement. But fear not. All flesh decays. Death turns all to ash. And thus, death frees every soul. - grand inquisitor silecio from the movie the fountain

Haha, look, he could have just said it was from Fight Club.  It drives me nuts when people don't attribute their quotations around here.  By definition, it is plagiarism because we do not have any idea whether the poster is passing it off as their own or not.  When there is that ambiguity, legally and ethically it is the responsibility of the poster to give a source.  I'm very tired of the lack of attributions around here, it's wrong and it's lazy, and I said something.

It feels good to vet irksome behavior sometimes. If given and received properly people usually all end up being at the least more refined.

the "if"  in my post should be capitalized I know.  lol  I strive for fantastical idealism to be the basis of my version of personal reality.
