They all appear to be.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Mycena will grow amongst libs some of the time or none of the time? I know nothing is 100% when it comes to nature..

Indicator species that you're close but the area is too wet maybe..? That's what I've noticed in the field.

I wasn't sure about whether the ones in the second to last pic were Mycena.

Lib stems I've noticed will wrap around my finger and mycena get that "broken straw" bendy fold to them. Print and ID everything of course since stages of growth may vary. This is just field ( ) experience tho.

Ps.semilanceata are very distinctive looking, just look through the images here and test for a seperable gelatinous pellicle if they are still wet (described in the link).

Does anyone know what the pellicle is comprised of? How come this phenomenon happens? Is it worldwide or localized or dependent upon habitat?

All moist specimens of semilanceata should have one as it is one of the characteristics of the species.

It is one of the representative characteristics of the genus Psilocybe (Stamets PMOTW: pg. 58).  Psilocybe cyanescens, for example has a "sometimes seperable gelatinous pellice" when moist (pg.111).

So is it a natural bug repellent or just a thing that happens? Protection of the cap as it pushes itself up through grass? Staving off slugs and stuff? I'd love to know what exactly is in it.

Well I don't see how it would offer any protection.  Considering how much these mushrooms get eaten by bugs and slugs I doubt it has any repellent properties either.

Yeah, I figured it was reaching.

I just find it extremely fascinating.

Thank you for your time and knowledge.
