Little iffy without a verm barrier btw, unless your lid has filters instead of open holes. Might be ok with just the foil, but any air that goes up the foil to get in the jar can carry contams with it.
I just do 1/4 inch holes stuffed tight with poly, and inoculate through the poly. Seems to be working pretty well, and lids are easy to make.

Yeah honestly It took about 4 days to see signs of life forming on top and about another week before mycelium started going nuts. But at the same time it was very thin and non riz myc. They were done colonising about 6 weeks in. I didn't fruit them until well over 2 months was in Oregon and took them to Eugene with me to look for work and ultimately ended up in Tijuana where I fruited them out.

Thanks Ben Things should go pretty smoothly from here on out. Yeah I imagine how my jars breathe from what little temp difference occurs between day and night time and the gas exchange from general temp differences inside and outside jars. Not too worried about it though. I will be def. taking some extra measures just to make the experience easier on myself in future and give better gae

let me know how it goes without a verm barrier, I wouldn't have recommended it but my fingers are crossed now that you've inoculated.

So things are going as previously experienced with lack of verm layer thus far. No noticeable contaminations as of yet and mycelium seems to be digging life

Theres quite a big difference in myc growth on bigger jars compared to previous pic. taken 5 days ago

Hehehee Seriously though its probably better If I do. Considering it would not put me out of a house and a home by taking that extra step but so far in my little experience this has always worked
Yes... yes... hurry up and wait.

yea man, you already have verm to make BRF jars, so why not use a verm barrier? In BRF jars thats the only filter.

Quick question.... My fungi wont stay cracker dry and I hate applying heat to them multiple times to get to that point. Fan them on wire mesh for 24-48 hours usually splitting the stems because it hardly effective otherwise. Then I place my little make shift heater *a light bulb in a tall can in middle of 2 wire mesh platforms and blow warm air on them until there cracker dry mostly laying stems and caps on top of can scarcely to get them dry the rest of the way. But they keep going from crakcer dry to bendable and its pissing me off lol I dont have any jars laying around without holes in them.
Can I just leave the fan on the fuckers thus preventing them from sitting stag and getting mold from improper drying?

Yeah that is def on my to do list. As of now can I prevent rotting/degradation/mold by keeping fan on them 24/7?
