SO i had all but given up on the liberty cap season when i stumbled upon these walking home with a friend. We were slightly sceptical of the colouration of some though, and i'm sorry for the horrendous pictures but they're at my friends house now and i cant take any more. Spore prints were dark brown, they were found on short lawn, and it was very wet at the time. Please could you give me any idea whether they're active at all because we were going to have them tomorrow

Mixed collection of mostly Mycena and what look like Conocybe and I can't tell what.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

I would also advise against putting fresh mushrooms in plastic zip lock bags like that. They tent to spoil pretty quickly if not fully dried out when stored like that

Certainly but if it's not for long most muhsrooms won't be harmed and it can be convenient. I used to collect mushrooms on my walks to work and keep them in my empty starbucks, etc. cups in the break room til I could take them home.
I would certainly recommend not photographing them for identification inside a baggie though. Spread out and separated as in the later photos is best, but with the best lighting available.

Agreed
Just pointing it out to op so when he finds his first stash of the good stuff it's not a moldy blackened mess a few days later because it's been stored like that fresh
