jars - different colonization times
    #2248409 - 01/17/04 01:11 PM (20 years, 3 months ago)

Got 6 jars in the incubator. 2 of them are 90% colonized, 2 are 40%, and 2 are about 10%. My friend plans on casing them with verm/coir all at once. All of 'em are upside down with tape off. 82ish degrees.

Will there be any problems keeping the nearly finished jars in the incubator for another 2 weeks or so while the slow jars catch up? I'm guessing they'll get kinda dried up (but nothing a dunk cant solve) - guess im worried about invitro pinning/dying mycelium.

thanks

if you wait too long the outer mycelium may form a hard crust, in which case you will need to scratch it with a sterile instrument (IE fork) altho if you keep them in the jars i doubt it will come to this

I would just scarpe em a little bit like yarry said...dunk em in cold water...overnight dunk in the firdge..and then work with em...they should be fine
