Habitat: found in wood-chipped park
Gills: Tan-ish, orangey
Stem: reddish-orangish
Cap: Approximately the size of a dime to the size of a nickel
Spore print color: did not get a print *gasp* I'm so sorry, shroomery!!!
Bruising: none noticed
Other information: I'm just curious, I was wandering around chipped areas, keeping my eyes peeled for cyans, but instead: behold! the whole damn park was just overrun with these guys growing in dense little patches all over the chips. Anyway, just curious what they are so that the next time I'm walking with someone I can feel smart when I start busting out latin-y names n stuff

Tons of those around. Tons. If you're not sure, snag one, beat it up a bit (don't flick cap), and wait a few minutes.
Study the stipe in the actives thread.
You can search by opening the thread and near reply/quote/quick-reply click images only. However, the information within is worth reading anyway.

This is something far cooler - Xeromphalina! I have never seen these on wood chips before.
They have white spores and are a good edible.
There are a few Xeromphalina species in the PNW - http://mushroomobserver.org/observer/advanced_search?q=2fPxs

Nice.
Can you tell me what I missed? I see finely hairy stipes in the lower portion and I presume that is significant.

The first thing I noticed was the cap texture, they are shiny and don't change color like Tubaria. They have a very consistent center depression.
The gills are more smooth and yellow - decurrent and anastomosed. The stem color and texture is different than Tubaria.

Whoah, cool - they're edible? Cause there were literally thousands - like in a soup or something? Hmmm, I guess I'll do some research and stuff

They would be amazing dredged in egg then flour and fried in butter or oil.
Consider picking them with a scissors so your mushrooms stay clean and you don't disturb the mycelium.
This would be a cool species for a back yard wood chip bed.
Verify that the spore print is white before eating.

Yes, I shall of course take spore prints before consuming - hmm, dredged & fried...
And I shall use scissors - I only pulled that little bunch in light of the prolific nature of the patch & to get more info for identification purposes
