The news comes less than two weeks after Germany announced it had put plans to withdraw troops from Afghanistan on hold because of the deteriorating security situation there.
So far this year, 124,000 Afghans requested asylum in Europe, according to the UN refugee agency – more than twice as many as in the same period last year.
Afghans are the second-largest group of asylum-seekers in Germany after Syrians, and the fastest growing. One in four asylum-seekers on the West Balkan route across Europe are believed to be Afghans.
Sounds like refugees to me. Not "Refugees".

Sounds like they haven't migrated to Germany yet.

Look at you trying to discredit information because of the source without even knowing the source. I first saw the report published on drudge but I forget the website of origin. Why don't you just do a quick Google search?
1/5 is your "number" btw.

My point, to Webster, was that they are refugees, not "refugees". Whether they are coming from Afghanistan or Syria, they are all seeking refuge.

After conservatives have all expressed how scared they are of Syrian refugees, it turns out not a single one of the Paris terrorists that were identified is a Syrian refugee:
Named Terrorists All European Nationals, Not Syrian Refugees
-------------------- I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them. I also attack my side if I think they're wrong. People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

Or maybe they just wanted to live in a developed nation instead of where they live today, why doesn't the whole continent of African relocate to the EU and claim "they are all seeking refuge"? Do you see how ridiculous this becomes?

What difference does it make? It just proves that they never assimilate even when they are born there, cultural diversity in the EU is a proven failure, why bring in more of the same? It makes no sense.

I think cultural diversity isn't particularly the culprit. Evangelical brands of Islam are the problem.

Or more so, a countries willingness to deal the radical element BEFORE there is violence

"Cultural diversity" (Muslims) in the EU is a failed concept, I'm not even talking about acts of terrorism, so why would we place the direct blame on "evangelical brands of Islam"?
The "moderate" Muslims that have been living for several generations in the EU have NOT assimilated into society.

Do you have any statistics showing the percentage of Muslims that don't assimilate, or did you make that up?

I'm sure if they could get into the Muslim neighborhoods, where even the police are scared to go, they might have some numbers, but until then, I guess we should assume all is well...

I have heard claims on this website that cultural diversity in general doesn't work, and I disagree with that notion. However, Islam is a unique case, as the belief system revolves around exclusion of other cultures. Islam permeates every facet of Middle Eastern life. Pile on top of that all of the other components of culture shock that exist between cultures of the same religious affiliation, and you have a perfect storm.
