Pholiota nameko does not occur in the USA.  You have some other Pholiota.    While most Pholiota species are edible, some are toxic - so if you decide to eat them, proceed with caution.

These are from a cherry log I inoculated with nameko spawn. I placed this log touching a live tree and some clusters were growing off the plugged log and some at the base of the living tree( I have never seen this before); in effect naturalizing nameko to the native trees on my land. I wanted to make sure the plugged log didn't get contaminated with galerinas. I can post pictures of the growing location and host log and tree if your interested.  I did naturalize enoki on my properties wood lot but as you know those are native to USA.

In that case, yes, they are Pholiota nameko

Galerina will have a rustier spore print, different stipe texture, shorter, thinner stipes, different cap texture (not so viscid) and grows on wood that is very decayed, usually falling apart from age and often with moss.
