is my drying desiccant chamber working

On the bottom is a layer of damrid, then saram wrap. Then i put damprid in some saram wrap i put that in aluminum foil, then i put the mushies on top of that. i wrapped the whole container in saram to make sure it is air tight. There is condensation apparent. I see droplets on the walls of the chamber.. Maybe i need to take the saram wrap out? Maybe the damrid won't work through that. THANK Y'ALL

Condensation is probably not a great sign, you don't need to seal this chamber. Check out this tek for some ideas on how your chamber should be setup. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17993929

water cannot travel through plastic, foil, or any solid object.
I put coffee filters in between the mushies and desiccant personally. I'm sure somebody else will have a better suggestion though.
You DO need to seal the chamber. unless you want your desiccant to waste its power absorbing humidity from the surrounding air.

You would have better luck drying them in the open air.
Or buying a used dehydrator from Craig's list

I wonder why people don't use fridges...they seem to dry stuff out rather fast.
Maybe a clean fridge would be absolutely required for that though

I've dried out a fresh fruit in the fridge. It was bruised to shit. Dehydrators ftw. If youre at desiccant stage tho.. Throw them in the oven on low for an hour or so. Should suck out the rest of the moisture.

thank y'all plenty. And i bet you're 110% correct @rblazer. Wrapping the damprid in foil and plastic is probably where i went wrong so i took it out and did this. to make it air tight i tied it up with two plastic bags. I can already see the damprid turning to liquid.

Yeah desiccant is to keep them cracker dry after you get them there.
I tried to make one of these like 14 years ago.
You havent lost a ton yet, just get them out on a rack with a fan at least. People like dehydrators. I use screens with fan's and space heaters.
