I found where there are hundreds of these in Virginia, USA. They look very much like Amanita Muscaria but I don't want to confuse them with death caps. They were found under only pine trees. Can someone help identify? Thanks

As long as it has a red center cap its a muscaria The yellow variations can be bright red to almost orange in the center but fade to yellow. The all yellow ones you don't want and i can't say for sure but they look like amanita gemmatas. Hope this helps!

They're Amanita persicina and one Amanita muscaria var. Guessowii.

The yellow one is Amanita muscaria var. guessowii.
All contain the same toxins/drugs.
Here is some info on preparation: http://www.davidarora.com/uploads/muscaria_revised.pdf

Try googling "amanita muscaria erowid" to find written testimonies and ratings of peoples' experiences.
I've heard it's similar to alcohol, but with some slightly weirder effects (things seeming bigger or smaller, salivating, nausea etc.)
I don't think there's a way for a layperson to check levels of muscimol in them so be cautious and read up on how muscimol works.

Similar to alcohol, but a lot more sleepy and with a much higher chance of vomiting.
