Bring it up and down slowly if you preseal the bags, otherwise they'll balloon up.
If not sealed, i crank it up and shut it down.
I use unicorn bags with .5 filter. Oven bags are weak. Fine for pasteurizing, but i wouldn't put em in a pc

Ive never had a bag melt in my AA but I struggled a lot at first with my presto. The wallls are thinner and it took a bit of playing around to get it right.

A Presto brand PC is exactly what I'm using. I opted for their 23-quart model and got it for around $120.00 I believe. I couldn't justify the price of an AA when I was shopping around. My Presto works perfectly fine, but you're right that the walls are thinner.

Where do you poke thru, on the bottom where the grains are or ontop of that.

I put my SHIP parallel with the filter patch and I fill my bag up about an inch or two below the filter patch. When I inject LC I spray it all over the top of the spawn.

why have I never thought about using bags for pasteurization, I really hate having to fill up my whole stove with 2 pots for a bunch of half gallon jars

Because bags suck. You can use em, but it  can be chancy. Smaller containers (jars) heat up and cool down more quickly.
Remember i told you everything i do, i do for a reason

Yea the presto is a really good starter PC.  I still have mine
You'll really notice the difference when you get an AA though, like youll see where every penny goes

Some people have no problems with bags melting in presto but I did. It wasnt the bags touching the side but the side close to the bottom.

I solved it by using a layer of jar rings on the bottom and then a trivet, then a second layer of jar rings.

Never had a bag melt after that. I also use the rings to pack between the bags as spacers when I load it

Holy shit, does the presto not come with wracks?  The mirro22 came with two.  God damn I would be so annoyed if I had to screw around with jar rings for everything I did.

Sorry for the offtopic.

I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister.  I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave.  I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent.
Triggered yet?

Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."

No, this does not look right...

It comes with two trivet usually. Theyre like short racks but they didnt keep the bottom of the bafs high enougb from the bottom side wall so I use jar rings between the trivets
