Ok , this is a question for the experts here : how can i root some offsets of Grafted plants? Grafted plants usually pup a lot, and if thse grafts are not made on pereskiopsis (wich is way too fast and produces bigger exemplars that lack of"tissue" and are a bit enflated) but on columnars, it is somehow menageable (i guess) Wouln't be nice to root some offsets of rare plants ? (wich are really valuable on roots but the only affordable way to get them is grafts)
Example: I have a nice Notocactus Werdemannianus Monstrose, grafted on some sort of trich, wich has a big double head and hundreds of offsets. I did experienced on grafting thanks to the little offsets, never fearing of losing some, because i had A lot of em. Now there are 3 or 4 offsets that are 1 inch diameter(or bigger ) nice enought to detach and root i suppose. But how? Now i'm not asking for soil infos. I know that pumice is great for rooting for example. I'm talking about a method that keeps the plants from shrivelling, and lets roots grow, only thing needed is time. My idea and my personal experience: Once, i snapped a pair of offshots from an astrophytum hybrid, grafted on myrtillo , and took the pups with me to graft em in a different place. I put them inside a little marmelade glass jar (the one use ones you get sometimes in B&B's). I grafted one, and i forgot the other. After a month the one inside the little container developped a tiny root and didin't shrivelled. My experience ends here. I dunno if that one could have rooted, because i attempted another graft.
But now, think, does it make sense? does it seem possible? can i try that with my plants? i will surely do, but i want to hear your opinions.
Little Head of an astrophytum hybrid that fell from one of my grafts

2 wiews of the notocactus graft, wich i would like to root some minor heads

The Lophophora buttons I used in the grafting competition two years ago rooted without any issue in pumice. It was just a matter of laying them on top of it and checking regularly until roots appeared. But I believe things may be a little (or a lot) different with other genera and with monstroses...

-------------------- One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. 'Which road do I take?' she asked. 'Where do you want to go?' was his response. 'I don't know', Alice answered. 'Then', said the cat, 'it doesn't matter.'
