CVG Sterilization

So, Im preparing for my first attempt at using CVG, and have been reading about pasteurization procedures. I've actually never pasteurized something before, and would really rather sterilize it in a bag, like I usually do with my peat/verm casings.
So, my question is, why do i seem to keep finding people saying its not good to sterilize CVG? they usually say sterilizing it can cause it to get contams earlier, but why? and why don't the same rules apply to a peat/verm casing?
Does anyone sterilize their CVG and have good results?

Nobody says it's not good to sterilize CVG.
If they do, they have no idea what they're talking about.

But no I never pasteurize my CVG because it's a waste of effort for me.

You want to pastuerize most bulk subs because beneficial microbes will help fight off contaminations. CVG is different because most spores and endospores have a hard time germinating on it. Someone with more experience can probably explain it better, but that's my understanding.

All right, thanks for the responses.
I guess ill be sterilizing it and see how that goes, and if it contams early, next time ill pasteurize.

If it contams early it's your spawn and pasteurizing won't fix it. Pasteurizing is a process intended to preserve beneficial bacteria. Coir has no beneficial bacteria, therefore pasteurization is pointless because there is nothing to save.
