Bellingham, WA dried out patches!!!

I live in Bellingham WA and was just wondering if anyone knew the life cycle of cyanescens. The places that I have found patches seem to dry up after a couple of years.. Just looking for some input on this? Do they only grow for so long in one place?

With a finite source of nutrients landscaping cyans will only flourish for a couple years. It's normal. Wait til the landscaping is renovated and fresh chips brought in or discretely bring them in yourself. Always be scouting new locations.

Add woods chips in the area where the crop started. Welcome to Shroomery

I have dropped off many yards of wood chips in order to keep patches going.

Get some mycelium from there and mix with a bag of wood chips for smoking meat from the bbq section at a big box store.

Soak chips. Tub of 3 inches live topsoil. 1 inch layer of chips. Trickle in mycelium. Add another 1 inch of chips. Some people plant grass seed on top of that. Then water occasionally.

Do you suggest that I grow the mycelium on cardboard first so that it is thicker?

Adler chips may be expensive. Go to your local landscape yard. Look for the dyed wood chips. They come in black, Brown, red. Most places are now carrying recycled wood chips. These are old 2x4's, plywood, building debris. They shred this up and color it. It's mainly Doug fir since that is what we use to build houses on the west coast. Usually 30$ a yard. I filled my truck up with two yards a month ago and added chips to an area that was a great producer last year but had some bald spots. Good luck
