I'm slightly terrified as to where this hobby is taking me. I passed up going out with my girlfriends twice this last week, and home early from date night with my man to cultivate. Definitely not the best hobby for my social life.

A lot of people, myself included, have had trouble getting them to fruit. Usually just ended up with tubs that grew stones (big ones though).
Fruitless Tampenesis tub with stones pushing through the casing.

Same story, but Atl. #7

Don't be discouraged though, it's a fun one to work with.

Kalistis....girlfriendS? Lol
I think you should use 35l or medium size tubs...and alot of fae to put it more in fruiting mood and not stone forming mood(could be wrong)...gonna give it a try...hopefully soon.

Alt#7 I just went MS to grain, no problem. At the time I would do grains and agar at the same time whenever I got a new species/var.
I found a syringe with about a 0.5cc left in it from about 4 years ago. It went through some really cold winters though. I kind of wanna throw some of it on a pasty plate and see if it'll germinate.
I wasn't able to get it fruit, I only tried to fruit one jar after getting stones.

Nice! I've read quite a few posts from cultivators struggling at getting them to fruit. I'm not that concerned if they fruit or not but I'm sure going to try! Have any of you tried moving the stones outside? I keep having these fucking outdoor grow dreams... They are driving me crazy.

Stevo has a thread where he did outdoor patches and they started fruiting all over his yard.

Well very nice nails and legs if so. Mushrooms do make you gay I hear, so maybe that's got something to do with it.

I for some reason thought syringes weren't good after a couple of months? It's part of the reason I have so many projects going currently. I'm working to get successful grows cloned, then stored on slants.

You guys all act like fags from time to time. It was only a matter of time before it started to rub off on me. So when do I get to see your pretty painted nails and nice girlish figure?

Haha syringes probably last longer than slants overall. Varieties stabilized through MS are best stored as prints/syringes and clones and isolates are best stored as slants.

I've thought the same thing, but according to quite a few TCs Syringes can last a couple years easily.

My concern is that they most likely froze like 4 times. I tried a burma syringe, however it only had like 0.2 CC left. So it prob died when it was ejected through the hot needle. The other issue is it went onto muda jar.
Course you don't see the sterilize with freezing thread.

I've gotten both ATL#7 && Tampanesis to fruit, no problem. What I've noticed is that they like a "resting period"
For some reason mexicana spp like to go arid.. Don't ask me why 'cause idk, but they do
I'll bring my substrate to field capacity like I do all my other subs before pasteurization/spawning.. But my mexicana tubs always go dry @ 100% colonization.
keep everything moist, she'll be happy.
Just something I've noticed.
Here's my current Tampanesis tray..sorta slacked on maintenance.
IMO it isn't as hard to fruit them as it is to mature thus said fruits. They are harder than pans, atleast to me.
