Every post I about P.  galindoi that I read is either about contaminants or frustration. Does anyone enjoy cultivating this species? I received one of these MS syringes as part of a special. Up until last week I had no idea what they were.

Very easy for me and after 4 months I got 150 grams of stones from 3 jars
Then fruited the grains in a tub and got some killer fruits
The stones made me very ill but the fruit was great

I've had great luck with stones. But if there is any error in your technique you can grow bacteria over months while the stones develop. Not all contamination prevents mycelium from spreading and continuing it's lifecycle.  It's not always visible. For this reason I've decided to start drying and powdering my stones instead of eating them fresh

Fruiting from grains takes a little TLC but isn't ATL7 specifically isolated for it's sclerotia producing properties and not it's fruiting?

Does anyone know if there are other Galindoi varieties that are commercially available? Is the whole 'ATL7 is a good stone producer' story bunk? is ATL7 in fact a 'regular' galindoi spore specimen?

Im about to enjoy cultivating these! I have a very good culture from Europe I was gifted from someone awesome

I have hundreds of quart jars and I intend to fill all of them with stones!!

How do these react to contams? Like when I get trich I never ever see it in my spawn, only in my tubs after fruiting when its exposed to FAE.
Will the jars go green after like a month or so or will it hide the entire time?

I was working with agar tonight and decided to throw some spores onto plates. While researching this species I discovered there are 3 psychotropic species that form sclerotia. So yes, I am fairly certain that there are other species P. galidoi, P. mexicana and P. tampanensis. I have never had truffles of any kind.... other than maybe in oil, but these have certainly aroused my interest.

They do fruit. Or at least from what I have seen they do.

My question was more intended for people that weren't TC's. Of course you guys have little problems cultivating most anything. I was interested in hearing if anyone with moderate experience enjoyed cultivating them or if it was too much of a pain in the ass of disappointment.

ATL7 is easy to grow, and one of my favorite mushrooms to grow. Every stone I've harvested are pretty potent aswell.

Alt#7 was the easiest exotic I grew.

The spores germinate easily on grains, and produce stones quickly.

I primarily used WBS.

I never tried to fruit it.

It produces stones very well. It's a great project to start and then put up on the shelf to forget about while you grow other mush. Then when the occasion arises, harvest a jar and enjoy.

Looking good! How many stones will you get from those 10 jars?

Does this do well in spawn bags? I see most people growing stones in glass

They sit for a long time. I personally wouldn't want them in bags in the event I accidentally punctured the bag or ripped it.

I did them in bags, they were fine (I didn't notice any difference really or thought about it). The whole thing gets pretty solid.

I'm growing mexicana for the first time here.

I went agar>jars and all 8 colonized with no contams.. And as you can see the jars next to it are cubes..  See how much more aggressive for me they are? I LOVE mexicana.

I made 2 trays with 4 of the jars. They ripped through those too. Should be casing them soon. Hope this helps.

So you case and fruit them while some people stop at just the stones?
