Martha Fresh Air Exchange
    #22477956 - 11/04/15 07:23 PM (8 years, 2 months ago)

I'm considering constructing a martha in my basement to so I can more easily regulate temperature and humidity in the winter.  We certainly can't afford to heat the house to fruiting temperatures. I will only be growing Oysters (Blue & Pearl) in it. I am wondering if putting some holes in the sides and covering them with tyvek would work for FAE without making humidity a problem.

This is true. As long as the martha isn't completely sealed the circulation provided by the humidifier will exchange plenty of air while also keeping the small area humid.

I keep my house at 75. I really don't see much of a difference in the bill, its maybe $20. Honestly I think what causes the most cost is if your fluctuating the heat a lot.

Once it gets to a certain temp, the house can easily just cruise at that temp. Kind of like a car. The difference in driving 55 or 75 isn't really much of a difference on gas mileage.
