Hi all. My first post so be gentle with me
I've been interested in edible mushrooms for some years and have enjoyed a decent season overall. I've also had an increasing interest in Liberty Caps and have yet to consume any. I spent the night reading through the forum here and today I coincidentally had the time along with some fresh enthusiasm to stop at an ideal looking spot and go looking.
I would be very grateful for any views on the ID of this small bunch!
I do believe I may have struck lucky and have set my pictures out with 10 that all look the same to me with the classic nipple shaped caps on the far right and as they move to the left they appear more rounded but otherwise look the same. BTW, these all smell pretty natural.
There are three along the top row and the one on the far right looks interesting but clearly different from the main row. Then the other two top left have a peculiar smell...very hard to put my finger on but they smell almost chemical like. Clearly a darker colour and may be suspect. I have placed pics in my public folder in Dropbox, so I hope that works.
Habitat: Found on wet, long grass in a field where sheep had previously been grazing. Plenty of sheep poo and very few (if any) people on the ground.
Gills: Gills dark grey
Stem: Various lengths. 4-6 cm Dia: 1-2mm straw coloured, thin and delicate.
Cap: Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.
Spore print color: Cap inverted on white paper with a small glass over the top. I tried for 20 mins (I thought that was sufficient based on what I've read) but was left with a very vague print. Hard to discern much but I'm inclined to suggest a hint of purple.
Bruising: No noticeable bruising colours.

You successfully separated out the three 'bad' ones (mycena sp.) The other ones are liberty caps. Well done on the ID request and the photos!

Really?! I am so bloody excited then! My first try and success!! Awesome. Thanks Koraks.
The field had LC's written all over it!
So, I have 9 little ones. A small quantity. Is this the best place to decide how to consume them or should I go to a sub forum?
Cheers.

Re the Mycena ones. It is the smell of bleach that I couldn't put my finger on! How fascinating. Just read that here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mycena
