is it possible to delete my text messages/calls sent to another person, on their phone?
    #22474615 - 11/04/15 06:19 AM (8 years, 2 months ago)

Let's say I sent a bad text to an ex that could get me in trouble or proof I had been calling, can these be deleted on their end by me or not (through my phone, not physically, obviously)? I know I can delete the messages I sent and calls I made on my end, but NOT on the other person's phone's end, right? I know this is some hacker shit, right?

Your only hope is to steal the phone, or have someone else grab it for you, possibly set up a diversion. Even if you were able to get the phone, or delete the messages, a subpoena of the call/msg logs for both devices would still show a msg had been sent. This would be enough to violate a peace or protective order. Which I assume is what you're worried about. Cease all contact with the person you are talking about.

There are many free wifi texting and calling apps available for free in the app store that will allow you to send texts or call without leaving behind evidence that will get you in trouble. Just dont send them using your data or home wifi. Borrow someones wifi or use a public one.

Just some advice from someone who has been in your situation more than once.

The text I sent were not exactly threats, insults, or harassment but more like continued texts after being told not to (she's a drama queen obviously). I had stopped texting. I wished I hadn't though as it seems as if I'm the one that's whipped. Maybe? So am I in trouble or nothing to worry about considering she hasn't blocked or deleted my number, which shows she's also enjoying the show in receiving my "love texts". That could also be a good argument in court that if she hasn't blocked or deleted my number, she's obviously enjoying the show, right? Again, no threats or insults or harassment involved.

If no threats or insults were involved, I don't see how a court would ever be involved. And no, not blocking your number wouldn't mean shit in court. IMO the best you can do is cancel the show and both stop being drama queens. But that's offtopic and you are free to ignore my thoughts as you please.

show's cancelled. I still think that if someone keeps sending you unwanted text or call, blocking it is the best option so that way you don't have to hear/know anything being said.

Yeah true. But it's not always easy to actually block someone. Especially not if you're into drama

If she's using a droid phone, it's possible (look up Stagefright) though requires some intense technical know-how.

A human being is part of a whole, called by us, the "Universe", a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

word?

so if I send someone a stupid message just so they read it, I could get it deleted through my phone without physically having that person's phone with me? Realize that some voice messages can be deleted/edited I guess, but is it before it's sent, not AFTER? I would assume after as well but how to confirm it was even deleted? I would think text messages can be deleted as well after it has been sent and read. There is an e-mail message thing where you send a person a message and it will self destruct after it has been read. This would be a cool idea for text messages or calls as well. LOL. After it has been heard or read, self destructs. I know this culture has been a "gotcha" kind of culture so I would think someone needs to come up with the invention that can delete all evidence after it has been read/heard/seen/etc. just for the sake of privacy and to counter the "gotcha" culture that has taken over. People will get you for the littlest things.

The point of such technology is NOT to stalk or creep anyone, but to get the point across and or say what needs to be said, without any worry for potential involvement/interference of the lawscum in people's "private" lives.

A few days late, but I just wanted to add... I was harassed on Christmas day for several hours. Repeated phone calls by the same group of people, every single minute. I printed the call log after blocking the numbers, showed my lawyer, and he wasn't even interested in it. I wouldn't worry about it if you didn't make any threats or whatever lol.

is there a way to find out who has my number on their phone (as stored contact)? Can another person find out if their number is stored in my phone?

Would I know if my text or calls are actually not being received? I sent a person a text message and I get no response yet I see no error message that my message could not be delivered. I called and the phone rings and went to voicemail. Does this mean I am not blocked or what?

I don't think there's a way you can tell. Maybe if you call your network operator, they may be able to give out some info - if they can be bothered

I thought the texts would be returned to me as undeliverable? Or is that only if the # is no longer in service?

Depends on the network, I'd say, but I've never personally received an "undeliverable" response after sending a message to a number that couldn't receive it. I'd say you'd never know whether your texts made it or not.

I also think you're still obsessing over it too much. Let the while situation go.

someone texted me and I'm curious who it is, I don't want to call back. I could google the number if it was a business it would show that it is but I think it is an individual. Is there a way to find out who owns the #?
