Fructify on jar
#22474482 - 11/04/15 04:35 AM (8 years, 2 months ago) |

Hi Guys:
I`ve been sucessfull with colonization of on jar of three in my first experience growing psilocybe on wheat grain(no vermiculite in my country)

I dont wanna loss it, making tests with mini bulk or casing or anything(may be later with other jars), also in my country there`s no vermiculite, manure........ i have to wait until weekend and go outside the city, and now i have no much time in my routine. So i just wanna ask, can i induce fructification without move colonized substrate, removing the lid and put colonized jar inside a fructification chamber.
Thanks

Fructification? Like, with fructose?
That jar looks like it might have a bacteria problem.

Surely you can get potting soil or peat moss? Just try to case the jar with one of those (pasteurized first) and stick a baggie over the top of the jar to act as a little fruiting chamber. Mist the casing when needed

Yeah well I was trying to ease him into the idea.

The mycelium's morphology and the way the discolored grains are pressed against the glass. You can still attempt to grow fruits out of the jar but being as bacterial as it is, you'll experience severely reduced yields.
No good mushroom forums in your native language?

Bacteria isn't the end of the world. You can still get fruits. It's not the bedt option but you can fruit frome the jar. I would case it with something though.

You guys are assholes. English is obviously not his first language. Give the guy a break. I bet he's more affluent in English than you are in his native tongue.

Nah it was real obvious he's not a native english speaker. I wasn't trying to give him too hard of a time. I knew what he meant and gave him an answer based on that interpretation. Still wanna know which translator is cranking out the word "fructification". The conjugation is a little too correct for a word that doesn't exist apparently fucking exists, my bad.

I think he meant put it into a mono or shotgun. Fluctuate air/humidity maybe?
Case it and stick it in a mono?

Fructification is the correct term for the growth of spore bearing fruit bodies of Fungi.

OP I owe you an apology.
Apparently, I am an ignorant ass.
Thanks for the correction. If you weren't opted out I'd throw you a 5 for setting me straight. I feel embarrassed that I thought our fuckin forum lingo was the correct term.

What country do you live in? Does it have horses? Because most of us ask farmers for manure, not get it at a store.
But you can definitely probably find dry straw, which Is a great substrate!

- By the way https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fructification
- In my country there`s horses, cows, but i work and have no time to go where manure is free, not really free i have to spend in transport
- about grass from my lawn, i live on a 10th floor XD.
- Vermiculite and perlite are nearly impossible to get in my country, peat moss is available but expensive,
- coir i have and don`t come from beach, come from tropical savannah so is not saline,
- Poting soil, good advice may be i`ll try later
- i`m thinking instead of manure worm casting, are inexpensive less than 1 usd 2 kg, more cheap than travel for manure
Again thanks

Worm castings are great as a suplimented at around 10% but you really don't want to use more than that. Castings get verry muddy.

Why can't you use that coir?
Seriously though, go outside, find some airy top soil/dirt, pasteurize it, and case your jars with that
