It's about this guy who invents artificial intelligence and brings in this guy to test it and see if it can pass off as true human. It's like one of favorite movies now

Have it on my desktop, haven't got around to watch it. I wanted to watch it because it seems like a good concept from the trailer, but it just seems like it's going to be one of those boring movies that only look good in the trailer.
Transcendence for example. Trailers and general plot made it look like a really good movie. It was just average. I know trailers are only there to make the movie look good and that factors heavily into things. I'm not watching movies simply because the trailer makes it seem great, I'm actively compensating for that fact. Trailers always get a downgrade in assumption. If a trailer makes it look like the best movie ever, it's pretty good. If the trailer makes it look pretty good, it's just good, etc. In that case the trailer was separated far more from the movie than usual.

I dont even watch trailers anymore, I went it to the movie with no idea what it was really about and it made it better, it was actually a very good story for nowadays

I thought Ex Machina was better than average (7.5/10), but not amazing or anything. Good movie.

I have OCD and I HAVE (is literally a compulsive drive that will eat me away until I do) to finish what I start. I'm almost always inescapable of turning off a movie or quitting a series simply because it ends up being shit shortly in. Though people challenge me in the fact that I use the term too loosely and I understand why, just had to get that out of the way.
I have to watch the trailers, if it the only thing that can spare me from that compulsion. I can at least then determine if it's worth the risk. If I just randomly watch movies, I end up having to watch some of the MOST SHITTY movies ever made. I'm not even talking b movie flops, I mean first production movies made by 1st year students. I have been burned many times by just randomly watching a movie. I have sat through some painful shit.

Trailers are deceptive as fuck these days. I saw a trailer for this movie called Tammy, right? In the trailer they played the song Gangsta's Paradise & then she comically robs a fast food joint. That was the trailer. So i thought the movie was gonna be some porcine broad bungling her way through a bunch of gangster shit, which seems like a funny premise. But then it turned out to be some feel good chick flick/buddy movie about a sad fat girl driving across the country with her lesbian grandma. Fuckin sucked.

Trailers can be very misleading. It's the worst when they put all the funny parts in the trailer and when you watch the movie all the funny parts were already spoiled for you and the rest of the movie is not very good. Hate that

I like how the Star Wars trailers look epic but they haven't really given away anything about the plot at all yet. That's what a trailer should be like

no no they give away most of the plot because movies these days don't have one to begin with

I saw it in theaters and it was quite odd. Not bad but not satisfying. The reviews raved about it so I went and saw it and didn't think it was all that crazy. Dude falls in love with a robot...
