I miss pods more than I miss pills. 80+ hour work weeks doing utility and engineering work in -40 or lower. Not missing that in Oregon.
Being on opiates and doing manual labor was a terrible plan. I ended up with more muscular and lower back pain. Trying to fix that and it's working slowly but surely. Kind of.

7 days here we're awesome.
Takin' nuffin' but weed, and I had a 40oz of beer Friday and Saturday but gonna try and keep that on the weekends, and not let it increase at all. I'm still trying to tell myself that I'm not a problem drinker, but that is most likely my addict brain refusing to let go of the crutches.

Whatever works to get off the dope dude. LSD and mushrooms, especially my last few trips, have me ready to move on and my emotions are leveling out. I'm no longer rapid cycling. The last time I cried or felt weird about it, I was near (or in) ego death, as everything was both beautiful and devastating at the same time. Truly showed me I have a choice to never be that person again, and fuck me if I ever do.
Have you tried 5htp, melatonin and valerian root? 5htp kicks in quick but burns fast, I like to take it 4 hours before bed then right before bed. It helped a lot those first 4 weeks.
Keep up the great work, 7 days with a heroin addiction recovery plan is both admirable and speaks loudly of your discipline. You're a wise man, and kind, keep that in your thoughts dude.
If you never use again, you won't have to be sick again. That has helped me a lot.

I've tried melatonin which doesn't seem to work at all. Never tried 5htp or valerian but I have $5 to my name right now so it's not really an option, but if I get some cash maybe would be worth a shot. I'm sure I'll sleep any night now, it's only been a week
I don't think I'll be tripping until spring at the earliest. PAWS, winter, and tripping would probably be asking for trouble. I'm counting on the job I'm starting next month to keep me busy.

The few times I had melatonin cookies hey knocked me out. Not any good or bad just straight to sleep.
So were you an IV opiate user? If you don't mind me asking

That I was.
Pretty sure I slept last night. It doesn't feel like it because I don't wake up at all, just find myself laying there, but there are several hours I can't account for at least.

Yeah but being addicted to kratom is so benign and manageable you can basically maintain that lifestyle easily without major problems, its not much different then drinking a few cups of coffee a day in terms of how it effects your life.
IF you could switch from cocaine to coffee that would be a good move, just like switching from heroin to kratom is a damn good improvement.

I don't like the coffee/kratom comparison. Kratom is much more addictive for the vast majority of people. For me sick is sick, and if I'm going to be sick I may as well be taking a drug that I like. I don't want to be sick no more tho, so no nothing for me.

Yeah if you go from heroin to kratom you haven't really dealt with the habit. Sure its much safer but the psychological addiction which is the real kicker won't go away. If you get a taste of the high on a daily basis from kratom it could make you itch for a more substantial high. I'm not saying it won't work for people though. It just depends on the person.

Kratom is just as bad as Suboxone and Methadone for anyone with a real addiction to opiates. All it does is calm the beast, and when you stop the Kratom you addiction is still there and you still have to deal with it.
I tried kratom maintenance for a few months while I was living in a sober house. My package got fucked up in the mail somehow and it left me dry for 3 days. The first day I got kinda sick, and that night I scored, then at work on the second day, I got sick again, but like heroin SICK, I was having to dip out to the bathroom to puke and sweating balls, had to dip out at lunch to score, I was already strung out off of 1 shot of dope after 3 months "clean" on kratom. Once I got my package on the 3rd day, I dosed and dosed and dosed trying to not go get more b, it didn't work.

So you ended up doing heroin to curb your Kratom withdrawal?

Burke tired to kill me and sheekle with Kratom. I was shaking for a half hour, and sheekle couldn't stop itching. He said he's always like that, though, which is weird.

I used another opiod to curb my opiod withdrawal. I didn't really have a choice at that point, I couldn't miss work or I'd loose my job, I was sick enough to where I wouldn't have been able to sleep or go to work the next day without something. I wasn't really expecting it to be anywhere near as bad as it was because of what I had heard from other people. Kinda why I was doing it.

Yeah, I was extremely taken back by how utterly sick I got off of one shot after all that kratom.
It was like I was instantly sick from a 20-50 dollar a day habit. Normally I don't even start to get sick until I use heavily for 2-3 days, and I wont get sick to where I'm puking until I've been doing .5 to 1g a day for 1-2 weeks or so.
