Possible Gymnopilus junonius? ID Help
    #22471055 - 11/03/15 01:11 PM (8 years, 2 months ago)

Habitat: Eastern Massachusetts. Growing from the ground right at the edge of a heavily wooded area. Lots of trees, buried/fallen/rotting branches and roots in the area. Closest tree was an oak, but lots of pine around as well.

Gills: See pics

Stem: See pics

Cap: See pics

Spore print color: Rusty/orange (still in progress, but it's already showing a bit after an hour)

Bruising: Definite bluing on the pins and on some of the lower areas of the stipe (see photos)

Other information: Cluster was cespitose. Strong smell, smells like other mushrooms (not really sure how to describe it)

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Looks like them to me, you can see some bluing in the second to the last picture.

And indeed, quite a bit in the last one, seemingly.

Thanks to you both. I found them right near a spot I found some earlier in the season, so it seems right.
