im getting ready to put a few monotubs into colonizing, one of my tubs is clear and the other is solid blue, what type of lighting is ideal for these when i start fruiting, i have natural sunlight coming into the room with the tubs

Use a florescent bulb in the 6500K rang. Compact or long it doesnt matter

I have shoplights so I set up like this. But regular lamp fixtures with the CFLs are great too

should the light be in the monotub since the tub is a solid color and lets no light in

I've used solid colors and placed clear plastic/wrap over the top and saw no difference.

No!

Yea dude you're gunna have to make a window or something. Cut a big square out of the top and duct tape glass or plexiglass (like from a pictureframe).

Never put the light inside the tub

No, that isn't what he said at all. If your tub is completely opaque then you should find a way to let light in thru the top by cutting a window. Home Depot has some plexiglass for relatively cheap. I know some people use Seran wrap. However, since I like to save space and like to stack tubs, I purchased only clear tubs but don't care what color the lid is. The sides of the tub let in plenty of natural light UNLESS you plan on growing in a closet or basement. Then artificial light will be necessary. Well not necessary... but ideal.
