Gymnopilus luteus?
    #22470463 - 11/03/15 10:56 AM (8 years, 2 months ago)

Found these sticking out of tree roots in Maryland, unsure what kind of tree it is. I live at the edge of the woods and see these a lot (and other kinds). No blue bruising, but some parts look neon yellow where it was ripped out or on the cap where it's torn.

The smell is... mushroomy? LOL I have no idea, no experience smelling them. Reading some guides on doing the spore print now, will post in a bit.

Any ideas?

Certainly Not Luteus.

Don't think they are even Gymnopilus.

Spore Print? Any bruising?

Wait for a TI

Took a peek at the spore print, it's been sitting for about an hour and I see it's white. This was kinda fun! Thanks to you both!
