Need an expert eye...
    #22469533 - 11/03/15 04:44 AM (8 years, 2 months ago)

Hi,

I'm doing some pf tek cakes.  It's not my first time to the rodeo, but I've haven't cultivated for at least a decade.

I thought my jars looked good.  Nice white mycelium.  I wanted to give it a week after fully colonizing the jar so it could consolidate, however it started pinning in the jars so I birthed them today.  It was a difficult birthing because I think I overpacked the jars ever so slightly.  I had to take a thin spatula and circle it around the cake to get them out of the jar.  They took more abuse then I would have preferred.  Anyways, I'm in the process of dunking them and they look like shit.

Are these cakes salvageable?

yes, as long as they are fully colonized (can't be sure from the pic)

as for the coloration it's just bruising. shouldn't hurt anything

Thanks for the reply.  Yes they are fully colonized.  I think the mycelium on the sides got rubbed off while I was trying to squeeze them outta the jars (my next ones I'm going to barely pack to keep it loose as possible so hopefully they'll birth better).  They were looking textbook perfect until I tried birthing them then they got really ugly like they look in the pics

I second that. They look fine. Time to move on to bags/mono my friend.

Considering spores can survive the vacuum of space, I would assume it's safe to say that mushrooms are on every planet waiting for the right conditions to present themselves. What it all boils down to, is aliens are on shrooms.
