Avoid manure from the stables. It often is soaked in urine and full of cedar wood chips. Take aged sun and rain leeched poo from the pasture.

Am not sure if its from a stable, but even if it ends up being stable poo, wouldnt it still be far more superior than "store bought" cow poo?

i would still go to the stable and see what the pile looks like.
in my area, its often brought out into a larger pile.
or there will be a lot of it outside the stables where the horse riders practice

but definitely ask the guy if he uses wood to mix in for smell.

u shouldn't have to pay for it TBH.  $5 max, but i'd give the guy an evil look when leaving :uptosomething:

Alternatively, you can buy dried and aged hpoo off ebay. Check the listings. I found a really good deal, 20lbs for 20$ (free shipping). Its got a bit of wood chips added too, you can break them apart by hand to make it easily digestible for the mycelium. Add some verm and gypsum, bring the mix to field capacity, load your jars, and pasteurize properly (140-165f for one hour!)
