Quart for quart if you can get APE to grow as fast as any ole other cube how would you compare weight?
Not taking into account you don't need as much, they're stronger, etc etc.
Let's say I can roughly predict a dry ounce per quart of spawn with regular cube clone, how close could you come with a decent APE clone?
75% of that seems doable yes?
I have very very little experience with APE so hoping someone who grows them regularly can chime in.

I've never seen it do either though really... Especially not like a good PE clone.

there are a lot of factors involved.

Yeah there are factors involved but pretty limited using a good clone, optimal conditions, etc etc.
The few times I grew it the fruits were quite small. I didn't weigh what I got but I seriously feel like my other tub outperformed it.
However...,..if you could get 75% of normal yield and you only had to eat half as much then it would make more sense to grow APE. Especially if you're like me and only grow once in a blue moon.

experimenting with different nutritional substrates is always fun. plus it is a good way to learn which works best. take mental notes of what works best for you.

PE is hard to grow. I've never gotten it to out-do my best 'regular' cubes weight-wise.
but the potential is there for people with better patience and good transfer technique and dialed in conditions.
Also, don't forget to use a casing layer.

Ape yields suck. The fruits don't get very large. But they are solid. I averaged 3 or 4 dry ounces on the first flush. I didn't run a 2nd flush.

66 quart tub. Built the same as any other. 3 dry quarts of spawn (idk how many that is hydrated) and an equal amount of hpoo. That's about a 3 inch thick sub. I imagine a deeper sub may produce larger fruits, but I haven't tried.

My MS APE yeilds were really sad, I mean really sad. Like an ounce dry, where the same conditions were yielding 8-12oz from other cube MS.
I think muda has a good pic of a huge tote full from MS, maybe it was PE.
Once I cloned a fruit, APE did very well.
This was also like 4 or 5 years ago, so maybe the MS is better now.
