Identification Help, several species..

Found several species on a recent walk. Any input is appreciated. Drawing blanks on 4 and 5.

Thought I would share using an Imgur album as these are large files - http://imgur.com/a/Le6Fe

1. Volvariella Gloiocephala - Stubble Rosegill
  • Pileus - Semiglobose,80mm in width,White/Cream,Slimy
  • Stipe - 10mm in width,White/cream
  • Lamella - Free,Cream(darker than pileus),Crowded
  • Spore Print - Pale brown
  • Body Height - 70mm
  • Ecology - Grass
  • Comment - No Volva present(?)


2. Hygrocybe Virginea - Snowy Waxcap
  • Pileus - Arched/Flat,50mm in width,White,dry/waxy(?)
  • Stipe - 5mm in width,White
  • Lamella - Decurrent,White,medium-distant spacing
  • Spore Print - White
  • Body Height - 50mm
  • Ecology - Grass


3. Gymnopilus Penetrans - Common Rustgill
  • Pileus - Flat/depressed,50mm in width,Brown,dry
  • Stipe - 15mm in width,light brown,bulbous
  • Lamella - Adnexed, brown, crowded
  • Spore Print - Brown
  • Body Height - 50mm
  • Ecology - Grass/debris/twigs. lake embankment. But not near any conifers(?)


4. ???
  • Pileus - Conical,30mm in width,pale grey,dry
  • Stipe - 2mm in width,pale cream,hollow
  • Lamella - Adnexed, brown-black, crowded
  • Spore Print - brown-black
  • Body Height - 50mm
  • Ecology - Grass/debris/twigs.


5. ???
  • Pileus - Flat,35mm in width,light brown,dry
  • Stipe - 5mm in width,light brown
  • Lamella - Adnexed, light brown, crowded
  • Spore Print - light brown
  • Body Height - 40mm
  • Ecology - Grass

1. Hebeloma crustuliniforme or a similar species, DO NOT EAT.
3. Cortinarius
4. Psathyrella
5. Not sure.

Take your prints on foil in the future, the colors will show up better.

Thanks for the response. Good Calls. Checked out the differences.

1) Hebeloma wasn't growing on wood. More white than pink gills. Brown spore print rather than pink. no volva.

3) Yet again, not growing on wood, rather on/near debris on the ground. Spore print and gill colour too rusty to be Gymnopilus.

4) Can I ask the reasoning behind this one?

2) is a snowy waxcap?

and thanks for the foil tip, will try that next time.
