1. Go to store 2. Buy a 6,500k Daylight bulb. 3. Hang bulb over tub on 12/12 timer. 4. ??? 5. Shrooms!!

Oh you can mos def get yield with next to no light. A lot of my stuff has been done with a 4500K or simply no fucks given. I'll switch to 6500K sometime. Maybe the yield improves??? but pinsets are totally fine without it.
I'll do some testing eventually.
--------------------
I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

Yields improve, caps enlarge, the mushrooms grow towards the light. Testing has been done quite a bit. They grow just not as well as they do with light.

So its a pretty dramatic difference? Either way, Ill get the bulb(s). How many should I have for Franks 12 step? http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/19792837#19792837
Would one work or should I just plan on 2? The reason I'm so curious is because I also have to buy fixtures for the lights. Thanks

1 bulb works fine. If light didn't matter then no one would be wasting $$ using a light.

I don't use lights lol I get direct sunlight for a couple hours every day. I position my tubs so that as the sun sets it'll smack them with direct sunlight through the window. Sunlight is the best light ever! Also with a couple hours of direct sunlight every day they just grow straight up. No leaning fruits

Thats what i should do, i added a light on top of the fruiting chamber. Because caps are small and shrooms growing in random directions. I will post other photos later to see if adding light change something.
Concering the terminology, the bottom and top layers are only vermiculite, what do we call it ? Bulk substrate ?

I was gonna use this tote my mother in law gave me yesterday. The only problem is after all this light discussion, I'm lookin at the tote and the top isnt clear... I'm gonna do a SGFC in my room I keep all the houseplants in. It gets constant light almost all day and I have a 4' fluorescent with "plant bulbs" from Walmart. Will this tote still work or should I go get a another one with a clear lid?

This fruiting chamber contain the following :
Casing, already started to fruit. 3 cakes newly entered the box Big jar filled with water with a fish tank heater, covered on top to avoid over humidity Plastic bottle also filled with water with a fish tank heater, opened on top to increase humidity
If you know other ideas for heating, using the fish tank heaters, please let me know or link me to some docs. Because my setup takes too much space and its not efficient, i only have 20 - 22 degree C.

I fruit everything in 20-22 C. You don't need a heater.

Thanks for the confirmation.
Btw adding light definitely changed direction of all shrooms, even the already gone wrong, after 24h they all followed the source. Led light 18h per day. Although there is a small possiblity they were going to line up with or without light.
