Is this a deadly mould?
    #22465341 - 11/02/15 04:49 AM (8 years, 2 months ago)

Sadly, I've contaminated all my jars. Not sure if I'm gonna give the trade another go or rest for a while until I feel like my life is more sterile, but for now I still have a little something growing and fruiting. Yet, the case is being populated by something ominous and dark. I tried to get the best pictures I could with my timid little camera, but hopefully some of you will be able to make a good guess, whether this is the dreaded Black Mould that becomes your last bad trip, and give a reasonable advice as to whether I should ignore my paranoia and just munch down whatever fruitbodies I get as the good-bye gift from my project.

Here are some pics:

Any fruits you get are safe to eat as long as they're not directly moldy.

Ergot? Or are you referring to Aspergillus niger?

FYI, Aspergillus spp. are opportunistic and only infectious for people who are immunocompromised (pathologically or chemically induced).

I don't know what it is, but it is spreading and seems to be turning even darker. From what I've read on these forums, it might be a really bad idea to eat the shrooms. Can this thing infect the shrooms invisibly - so that the mushroom is not covered in a visible mould, yet is toxic?
