Kids don't even go out anymore. Think I had like 9 or 10 come by my place. 10 years ago the streets used to be packed and there was still kids out at 10 or 11. Miss seeing that shit.

Yeah not much goes on anymore like it used to be.

I, however, just do not like candy at all.

Trick or treating in the 80s/90s was fun. Our masks suffocated us, makeup caused ocular damage and we did what we wanted. Some people still did candy until 3am. We also didn't have cellphones so old ladies would hand out dimes and quarters in case we had to call home if we ventured too far.

I feel bad for the generation of kids who went out trick-or-treating from 3-4pm with their parents. I can't imagine almost being a teenager and having my parents walk me around familiar areas.

I took my sister trick"R"treating dressed as a zombie cersion of rob Snyder ..I was thinking , If kids can take candy from strangers , then I can take candy from kids by accepting candy that would otherwise go to kids. Purge.

Kids shouldn't be eating candy , until their first rave

Last night we barely got trick or treaters, I said at one point. I guess there are just no children that trick or treat anymore.

When i used to trick or treat the streets would be packed in bigger neighborhoods, and in my smaller neighborhood you would atleast see a good amount of people out walking around.

I went back to my parents for halloween, same place i used to trick or treat, and it was dead, no one aside from those two kids, who lived in another neighborhood. No one that lived in my old neighborhood was out. Hardly any decorations, it made me really sad. Worst and most depressing h'ween i have ever had by far.

Anyone ever just wish they could go back in time to being a kid.

Cross post from the UK lib thread:

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22441574#22441574

I suppose the kids these days would rather play their computer games than go out in the cold asking strangers for sweets, and, after all, haven't most of them grown up being told "don't talk to or take sweets from strangers"?

'tis sad. :nonono:

I think it's because a lot of people are starting to turn their noses up at the idea of giving away candy for nothing. Or actually needing to go door to door to collect candy like some bum. Totally forgetting about the tradition aspect of it. Now it just seems like a night for the ladies to dress up as slutty as possible and haul off some fuck boi from the club.

Trick or treating is pointless with all the 99 cent stores around here. Though pretty much all the products at the 99 cent store are like 1 week from expiration, the candy is still good.

You can get 2 lbs of halloween candy for 99 cents now.

A few years ago I got all high/drunk and decided that I wanted candy so we both dressed up... as ghosts. And by ghosts I mean Charlie Brown style with holes in an old bed sheet. I think I was 21 at the time.
