That's cool but it's like a macro version of the same rhizomorphic pattern. I prefer the kind that doesn't threaten to reach out and tickle my feet. Something about that growth gives me the heebie jeebies.

It's amazing how efficient i have become in my SAB. I just finished my GT clone transfers in less than 10 minutes from set up to parafilm. First time I worked with agar it was an event!
And I completely agree that the rhizo feet are spectacular with cubes. Should I get a particularly beautiful plate I will have to take some macro shots, print, mat and frame it. Although, if you saw all the framed pictures and artwork waiting to be hung up in my house presently, you might think I was insane for even considering it.

Well whats the first 2?
Hey while were on it I might as well ask, does PE6 have shorter pinning times or less tendency for blobbing than classic PE?

PE6 is pretty much a classic cube that occasionally spits out a few dick phenotypes. Clone them when they appear.

I've had a few blobs from PE6 but it's pretty much a regular cube at thus point. It shows the odd PE characteristics but it has little in common with PE at this point. It gas always given me great yeilds and potancy though.
My favorite cubes are EnvySS and KSSS then PE6.

First clones?... you are killing it Grrrl! Maybe it is because the picture is clearest but your best looking prospects for transfers look to be on that third photo - from like 2 o- clock round to 11. That manicure is on point too

You are kickin it are you sure you are a noob or just new to this site? Showing lots of promise. Keep up the good work, I'm really enjoying watching your myco progress.

Had to get some work done a few days ago. Inoculating 2 qt master jars with 2 plates of black poplar. Inoculating 2 qt master jars with King Oyster LC. Doing a final transfer of a wild clone to verify cleanliness before slanting. Putting 3 prints(1 wild) to agar. Finally, squirting some spore solution to grain with spores from a print that didn't germinate when taken straight to agar(hoping hydrating some in solution for a few weeks brings them back to life.

And done.

I also knocked up a qt with a plate of pleurotus cystidiosus. I decided to do that after I was done with these and forgot to take pics.
The spores to agar have germinated already. Will be transfering clean growth to fresh plates tonight.

Thanks! Since I only had 3 out of my 6 clone attempts to work with, I decided to take multiple wedges from each plate. Only I started where I thought I saw the best growth and then moved on from there in the event I contaminated the plate along the way. I took 4 wedges from this plate, starting at 2, 3, then 10 & 11.
I'll be going back to MEA next pour, I don't think the mycelium likes the PDA as much, or maybe it's just me? It also seems like my PDA plates get more condensation them then MEA.
