There are lots of actives in Mexico. Stuntzi, cubensis, azurescens, pan subbs, semilantica, mexicana etc. Happy hunting :-)

And because of how close Mexico is to the equator, seasons don't matter as much for the fungus.

Negative on the Stuntzi, azurescens, and semilantica (I assume you mean semilanceata)

Here is the list of actives which grow in Mexico, I would suggest sticking to the ones in the genus Psilocybe and Panaeolus though, they should be the easiest to ID to species. If you do find some mushrooms you suspect are active, please post clear pics of them here for proper identification, don't consume any fungi unless you have had someone more knowledgeable on the subject help you with your ID's.
Have a safe trip, happy hunting.
Mexico Conocybe siligineoides Inocybe corydalina (Many deadly look-alikes, Inocybes are not recommended for hunting) Gymnopilus cyanopalmicola Gymnopilus subearlei Gymnopilus subpurpuratus Panaeolus cinctulus Panaeolus cyanescens Panaeolus fimicola Panaeolus sp. Panaeolus tropicalis Panaeolus venezolanus Pluteus americanus (known from the state of Hidalgo as P. salicinus) Pluteus leucocyanescens (Veracruz) Psilocybe aztecorum Psilocybe banderillensis Psilocybe caerulescens Psilocybe caerulipes (Veracruz, Hidalgo) Psilocybe cubensis Psilocybe fagicola Psilocybe heimii Psilocybe hoogshagenii Psilocybe mexicana Psilocybe meridionalis Psilocybe moseri Psilocybe muliercula Psilocybe neoxalapensis Psilocybe subtropicalis Psilocybe yungensis Psilocybe zapotecorum

I don't know about hunting in Mexico, but I bet you Alan Rockefeller would know because he hunts mushrooms in Mexico a lot, perhaps he will see this and chime in.
