Habitat: woods in southwest ohio, in bethel to be precise. Where does it grow? Found in the woods on a few rotting logs a short distance from a stream.
Gills:light maybe tannish tint. top appear to be connected though not extremely so, pulling slightly towards bottom of gills
Stem:short tallest one seen being maybe an inch and picked white to a tan brown with a hollow center
Cap: almost nipple like in center and brown in center fading to almost whit at the edge. Conical going down the stem not up above ranging to flat top
Spore print color: working on this now a sample is currently under a glass on a paper on my desk
Bruising.. none noticed as of yet, picked maybe a half hour ago though
Other info. no strong sent, kind of earthy smelling, kind of reminiscent of many store sold shrooms for cooking. slimy on top of cap when picked

I know the pics arent the best but i can get better if it seems like they may be a valid active shroom. My thumb is next to some of the caps for size reference, my thumb is maybe a half inch wide. And i forgot to mention its been raining alot this past week and rained last night most

my guess is something like Mycena maculata, those aren't caerulipes

Thanks for the opinion, im new to hunting and that is actually the type i considered it may be but my initial concern otherwise was the lack of blue bruising yet. I kinda new it was too good to be true but looked similar enough to many pictures that i felt it was worth getting some experienced opinions
One concern with that idea though upon a little research, none had any reddish spots and the stems are about as long as the diameter of caps instead of being much longer. Much of the information i found marked these as characteristics of the mycena mentioned but as i said im new to hunting. Just trying to provide some more information to help determine.

you have the right idea, those puppies are tough to find. keep looking, i don't think the season is over down there (i used to have a friend in bethal lol) and you've been getting rain.
definitely read the seasonal threads for p. caerulipes (if you haven't already,) there's more information in those than i could possibly add here.

There are so many things found when trying to research this specific type, is there any chance there is a good one you can recommend?

ya, those threads. you WILL NOT find a better resource anywhere. the guys that contributed the most to those threads just laid it bare. i really don't think any other resource could come close to the details the pics, the explanations of just about every facet of looking for these lil bastards.
read through them several times and scalp some of those pics and put them on your phone to take with you into the woods to compare.
then, just go out and learn whats out there. pretty soon, you won't be looking at everything like its unknown, its gratifying to start saying to yourself - oh i know what that is. (even if you can't always remember the name)

Caerulipe season has been over here (Ohio) for like a month or more now. You might still find ovoids, but no caerulipes. They're a warm weather/summer mushroom.

yah, i'd go along with that, cept we didn't have any rain at all 'during' (least here) and its a pretty warm indian summer so far.
hope keeps me lookin' despite the temps. but largely i'd say you're right
