Found growing in woodchips in a bunch, white hollow stem with black/dark purple gills. Silvery white cap. Pictures are on my profile as I cannot upload jpeg. I suspect they're mica caps maybe?

Apologies I forgot how to use shroomery. It's been a while since I hunted, but I think I may have found some psychoactives. Please help!!

The mushrooms in pics 5 & 6 are Cortinarius species, probably Cortinarius rotundisporus, not psychoactive. The mushrooms in the foreground of pic 1 & 3 are Psilocybe subaeruginosa, psychoactive. The mushrooms in the foreground of pic 2 and the pic in your next post appear to be Psilocybe subaeruginosa too but I don't want to say 100% because I can't see them all clearly.
It looks like you have sorted them into different piles already. Just make sure to post good pictures of any you're unsure about. There are a few Cortinarius you don't want to eat.

Hey thanks a lot! The mushrooms in picture 2 are the same as pictures 1 and 3 I believe, as they look similar and bruise blue on the stem. How would one prepare these? First time.

Good! It sounds like they're easy for you to tell apart so that's good. One thing I forgot to mention, these look a little manky so don't eat any black and rotting ones, or eat least cut off any rotten bits. You can just eat them, maybe 4-5 good sized mushrooms should have you well lit. Or you can prepare tea. Google is your friend here. I usually just bring the water up to steaming/not yet boiling then let it steep for about 5 mins, strain and consume. I hope you have a wonderful first trip and stay safe!

Stick with the blue bruising ones only, like the ones in pic #3, the others are not safe to eat.

I found these, not sure of what they are, I only picked them because of real obvious blue bruising. Note all but one have been cut in half right down the middle. Found on forest floor littered with leaves and rotting plants.

The development is consistent with cortinarius.

The season has been great to me and I've found 6 secretive patches all around Dunedin. These are the latest specimens found

Are these safe to make tea or chocolate out of? P.subs that have gone black as didn't pick them fast enough. All fresh. No fur or anything, just black caps/gills, sstalks seem fine.

Yes, as long as they aren't rotting. Ones with rotten food odors should be mixed with water and thrown on fresh wood chips outside.
Questionable ones can be made into tea with boiling water, which will kill bacteria which can cause food poisoning.
