Instead of buying barley or whatever, is there anything that's commonly foraged to make alcohol?
- Wild apples seem sorta plentiful... would those work? - Would wild carrots work? - Can mushrooms be fermented? - How about pumpkins?

The dandelion petals would work well for wine.

Any kind of berries or fruit is great for wine. I foraged wild apples, figs, and peaches this year to make a couple gallons of wine of each. They turned out quite well. I like foraging to make my own brews too.

Also yes dandelion petals do make a great wine. Just make sure to only use the petals. Any of the green on the dandelion makes the wine come out really bitter.

You can ad pretty much anything to your brew in the final stages to add flavor. Just like dry hopping... In terms of forage able herbs I'd say any edible flower would be interesting

Anything with sugar can be fermented. Apples make hard cider. But a lot of the taste and sweetness gets devoured by the yeast. If your looking to improve taste you would want to add a sugarless plant at the end so as to not reignite fermentation

Here's a book kind of considered "the Bible"
