It all depends on what I'm doing and the time of year. Sometimes not for months, sometimes 3-4 days a week for weeks on end. Winters are best for writing indoors with lots of shrooms, and summers are best for tripping outdoors in the sun, also with lots of shrooms... Sometimes weekly in long cycles. Sometimes every couple of weeks. I did quit for 10 years once, but usually when I get back to it after whatever reason for not doing them I'm all "What the hell was I thinking? This is awesome!"

That's right.
Not in the sense that there's some sort of information you need to receive from them. And not that there's no information to receive, either, there's plenty of it, a near infinite amount, of varying utility. But they don't exist for any human purpose, and they don't convey some sort of essential human message - they aren't some sort of messenger service just there to tell us things. So there can be no "get the message, hang up the phone" to them, just like there can be no endpoint to meditation, say - some pinnacle of "attainment" that you never have to budge from ever again.
IME everything is flux. The universe encompasses all possibilities in its evolution - it takes all pathways on a quantum level. We in turn travel down all of these pathways simultaneously, and we only think we are experiencing a single inevitable strand. Psychedelics appear to open up these multiple realities to direct access, overriding somehow the collapse-function that we use to make "sense" out of the multiverse underlying our experiential reality.
Out of all these myriad possibilities (what some Buddhist texts refer to as the "Net of Indra") we choose, constantly, somehow, to take one path and discard the others. Psychedelics suppress this choosing and expose the infinite underneath. Every time you go back it changes. There is no "message" only the experience of the plenitude. But no wonder it burns some people out. That stuff is hard to look at - it's not even supposed to exist.
Now, granted there is a fair amount of speculation and interpretation involved in the above view. But it's something I'm working on when I have the time and shrooms, to discover exactly why it is that probability (whatever it really is) dissolves during an intense enough trip - with repeatable, measurable, results. And because it only happens with sufficient dosages to induce strong OEVs, repeated day after day, over extended periods, it requires a significant commitment of time - and shrooms - to explore properly.
But it definitely does happen, whatever it is, so it's worth investigation - I already have enough evidence of various sorts to demonstrate the reality. And if I was to have just "hung up the phone" years ago I would never have encountered this extraordinary reality. I'd just be one more person who thought there were limits to tripping.
sorry for the OT excursion - it was a good question. Before the ninja edit.

I wish I had that much time and freedom to trip consistently like that. I've never even experienced the fractal realities I know shrooms have to offer. I didn't even have strong visuals from my last 5.5 gram cube trip (damn MS never works for me).
Maybe pan cyans will fair better for me when I take 1 gram dried. I hear people stop taking cubes after having experienced pans because of the clarity of the experience (almost LSD like). I have some 2nd generation agar that I'm gonna transfer to oats soon. Shouldn't be long till I can have a full, rewarding trip!

I tend to disagree with this statement. I see it thrown around quite a bit and I forget who coined the term. But IMO, psychedelics have so much to offer. Each and every trip is different. There is so much that can be learned that you can't take it all in with one trip. I mean, shamans don't throw in the towel. They just keep going and going. I guess I just can't hang up the phone.

I know I was just agreeing with SnowDaze when he said he no longer felt the need to trip because he was getting too old to enjoy the experience of tripping.
My guess is that the pure randomness that each trip presents gets boring over time and nothing is really "gained" from the experience. But, that is completely understandable, since natural curiosity for the exploration of the unknown tends to decrease with time, so to speak.

Mushrooms I do in low doses maybe once every couple months, just for fun I guess, and to revisit the "gods" of what was the single most meaningful experience of my life on an ego shattering breakthrough once, never to go back there though, at least not any time soon. Most I've ever tripped was twice in a month. Never enough for ego obliteration since I've already had that and don't really want to go back there anytime soon, I prefer mushrooms just because of the pure natural feeling of them with zero side effects. LSD lasts too long on your psyche and burns me out with unwanted side effects, jaw clenching, amped rushed energized feeling, neck and back sensations, not able to sleep, I've only done it once but would prefer to have an intense 3-4 hour experience rather than 12 with unwanted side effects

When I am cultivating I binge every chance I'm get on my days off. That's if no one bugs me and wants to do something. I'll lemon tek an eigth Friday night. If im alone Saturday I'll eat lemon tek 2 grams when I wake up, get in the bath, smoke some hash laced joints, eat some cereal. Then I'll eat them as the day goes on soaked in lemon juice unknown amounts watching documentaries or playing xbox live. take a four hour break before midnight then eat a lot like two handfulls. Sunday I'll recover with bho and beer.
Other times when im low I'll only eat them once a couple weeks with a friend hiking or something. I prefer tripping alone though. Just got growing again haven't tripped in months.cant wait to try using MAOI. Don't live in my own place now so that sucks.
Just depends on where my life is.

if it's available and I am, every 4 days
lately, once a week which is what it should be for everyone imo
80% of tolerance is gone within the first 48 hours imo, and the last 20% goes bye bye in the days and weeks after that

Last year and the year before I had about 50-60 mushroom experiences all together, this year it's been only six or seven, I'm not sure.
Winter is comming, time for chocolates!

I guess that I've been in that situation.
I used to trip acid a lot, then I switched over to mushrooms and I was sick of paying $10 a gram and started growing my own. That led me to having a basically unlimited supply. I suspected that once that happened I'd be tripping all the time, but it didn't really go that way. To be honest, when I had an unlimited supply I actually found myself tripping less often for some reason.
Last year I did go through a time period where I tripped almost every week or two, but for the most part I find psychedelics to be too exhausting to use all the time. I haven't found that the spiritual element wears off with time, but I do find that the come up is somewhat challenging.
I think that it's probably different for everyone though. I've certainly known people with unlimited supplies who hit it hard all the time.
