Substrate proportion recommendations
    #22458401 - 10/31/15 04:21 PM (8 years, 2 months ago)

This is my first grow, I'm really excited about it. I am going with a PF and I'm bulking out with some coir. I've done some research and I am considering Rye berries with gypsum in half pint jars. Would you recommend larger jars? Also what proportions would you use per jar?

I think you're confusing more than one thing with another thing. Bulking out of cakes with coir involves no grain/rye berries or jars. Rye is spawn

Where does the word proportions come in with rye jars?

Kinda confused.

Wait, half pints are tiny as hell for rye grain.  Wide mouth quarts are the standard jar size for grains.  Wide mouth pints work well for grain masters too.

Sorry, I worded this wrong. So, I'm thinking of using rye berries and gypsum to colonize and then bulking wirh coir. What I meant to ask, was if the half pints are too small, and if so, what proportions would do for a larger size? Does that make sense? Lol.

Sorry guys, may have over-medicated with the sativa.
