Habitat: Field (Town Moor) Where cows graze and semilanceata/various panaeolus grow.
Gills: Pale/Beige, free.
Stem: 2.5", 0.5cm, white/blue, minor white pealing, turning brown with bruising, solid, thin - you can see on close inspection the 'grain' of the stem running down, more prominently at the very top where it joins the cap.
Cap: 0.5-1.5", Beige/blue, darkening toward the convex centre (minor nipple), sticky (slimy when picked), spherical.
Spore print color: Taking Spore print now..
Ok so Hi!
I have been using this site for some time, but have finally got my camera working and am looking to get more involved and start posting. I have been picking mushrooms since I can remember, and hallucinogenic ones since a teenager. I am now in my late 20's, I forage for a living, and I have a mission to find out much more about the varying species of magic mushroom in the UK. On to this mushroom....
I have now found this two years running on the Moor in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Last year I moved house and split with my girlfriend, who left with the pot I had dried the specimen in. I later found out when asking her to return the mushrooms that she had eaten them along with a load of liberties that I had also lost to her. I had been particularly concerned that she did not do this, and was shocked and intrigued to know what had happened. Apparently they had a lovely trip and no ill effects were reported. This would be an assurance to me that the mushrooms were either harmless and hallucinogenic or just plain harmless, if it were not for the fact that she had no idea she had eaten two different types... ergh!!!
So here I am a year later with a fresh specimen for you wonderful psychedelic mycologists to help me identify....... and here are the pictures:
(I can take more shots if need be)

Aye I know cubensis don't grow here, just drawing comparison. Stropharia what then? And if so does anyone know why they are blue? Or does anybody know about the chemical properties of them?

It could be Stropharia pseudocyanea but that is just a guess on my part. Really not familiar with the genus at all.

Pseudocyanea was my best guess too on researching the genus. I would like to know more about it though. Funny how similar they look to other active specimens!

Yeah there's actually a lot of non active mushrooms that can potentially be easily confused with Psilocybes. Some of them are very toxic aswell which is what makes the forums and the ability to be able to have them I'D such a good thing
