Washington storm advice?
    #22453115 - 10/30/15 10:57 AM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Hey, still pretty New, but I have a little patch of cyanescens right off my front porch, I picked the big wavy ones a few days ago. More have sprouted and the ones that I had left haven't Got much bigger. My question is: we are predicted heavy wind and rain tonight. Should I cut what I have now and hope they grow back? Or should I just let them ride it out? Have about 9 all about the same sizes. Thank you in advance

Just leave them alone , the rain will help them mature. Wind is no problem , hard freezes and dryness will decay the mushrooms.  Cyanescens are slow growing -from primordia to maturity is like 2 weeks , according to what I've read. I've never watched them grow but I'd assume you've still got another 5 -7days.. Unless you want to pick them when they're small. Some people like small pins

I've had good expirence covering patches with leaves if you have any Douglas fir leaves around I'd reccomend using those as a layer., they Probually don't need one though.

Nice patch, did that just naturally occur ; or have you prepared spawn for the. To fruit ?

I built a little sloping tent thing over my patch to help with humidity, if you are really worried about it that might be a solution?

I used a tarp and some paracord and its suspended maybe 6 inches above ill get some pictures in a minute
