Little drying problems, safe to eat ?

Hello guys,
I just harvested my first flush from a grow kit. I got a decent weight of cubensis (about 240g fresh).
I had a little problem during the drying part. I didn't let them dry enough with the fan before I put them in a box with the desiccant (Calcium Chloride, lots of it). After a 2-3 days I realised that on some of the mushrooms there was a thin layer of white stuff (probably mold, I don't know). It was very thin, so just rubbing it with my finger removed it. I realised I didn't dried them enough before putting them in the box. So I carefully removed all the white stuff with a paper towel (it went out very easily) and I put them to dry the right way.
Now they seem close to cracker dry. I think I'll soon put them in the box again (I think it's safe now).
Do you think this little incident makes them "unsafe" to eat ?
(They smell like regular cubes, no weird smell)
Thanks a lot guys !
P.S : sorry for my english

The thin layer of white stuff could just be dried mycelium at the base of the stems. Any pics?
Next time you harvest, put your mushrooms directly into a food dehydrator at the highest setting, they'll be cracker dry in 12 hours or less.
I've never fan dried or used a desiccant chamber with my mushies before, and I don't see any benefit from it. One of the first items I bought when starting this hobby was a food dehydrator
I was paranoid about eating moldy mushrooms too and figured why not invest 35$ to help prevent my hard work from going to waste.

Thanks for the advice , I'll probably buy one for my next harvest.
I don't have any pics since I removed all the white stuff now. It did started at the base of the stems but quickly growed to the top, mycelium wouldn't do that right ?

Hmm sounds kinda sketchy. The mycelium would be around the base, aka "fuzzy feet". Is it only white? It's not unheard of for mycelium to grow on the stem, due to an extreme lack of FAE.

Woops. Someone got mad at me for posting this on an old thread. I'm a 'noob'. Everyone starts somewhere, so there is no insecurity about it. I hope the community isn't impatient with newcomers.
So, I went to the coast and picked these azurescens. After reading old threads I still didn't find much information regarding this specific issue. Upon getting home yesterday I fired up the oven and baked pizza. About ten minutes after I popped them into the oven in order to dry from the residual heat. When I took them out after about 30min they had turned jet black. What do you think? Are they ruined? Did the psilocybin degrade?
A friend told me that the more abused the mushrooms are the darker the trip is potentially. The less abused mushrooms will more than likely provide a lighter more happy feeling. Not sure if this is true and I'm not finding much information. Thanks in advance for any advice.

If you dried them at same temp you bake pizza at there may be no trip. I think over 150f and active compounds degrade.

This makes me want to cry. It wasn't the same temp as the pizza because I popped them in about ten or fifteen minutes after I turned the heat off. They did not become crispy. Just jet black. Now I have them in a paper sack with a bit of Epsom salt.

Actives don't break down until 300-350 range. We all use dehydrators and crank them up to 160 for 12 hours. You want them cracker dry them as fast as possible.

psilocin is actually 170, and its 170°C, which is equal to 340ish F. Psioocybin breaks down at 200°C, which is 380-390F.
What you don't want is oxidation. That's greatly increased if your fruits aren't cracker dry asap.

It's also necessary to store your dry mushies with a desiccant packet, as they can still reabsorb tiny bits of moisture from the surrounding air in the container over time.

a food dehydrator works very well turning mushrooms into a cracker dry state.

I ate one little teeny tiny mushroom yesterday. DIdn't feel anything substantial. Felt rather talkative and I had an elevated mood all day long. Pretty interesting because I've been reading a lot about 'micro dosing'.

That's exactly what micro-dosing is supposed to do. Just a slight alteration in your consciousness!
