Yeah, I got rid of it, it was on a couple of loose small bits of substrate on the top, it was a bit too small to show up on my phone. On the same side and deeper, against the side, there is a spot and that one is definitely blue, only small though. I don't think i gave the other side enough light, because that side of the box doesn't look fully colonized yet : P

By the way, I just read that the mycelium will only usually grow on top of the substrate when there is not enough FAE and humidity, is that correct would you say? Aerial Mycelium is what it was called.

I don't know why, but these grow bags make me so angry. OP I'm not angry with you, but GODDAMN it's like capitalism is taking a shit on mush cult. Maybe it's all the hours of research I had to do in order to get things right and these dip shits are selling you a lie in a bag claiming it's the golden ticket. I get that for most people, they just want the quickest means to the end, but it truly does degrade the integrity of the entire process.
Bleh, I'm done. I hope you get some good fruit from this shit bag so you get the opportunity to see exactly how fulfilling the experience truly can be. You've come to the right place to learn. The people on here know their shit! Good luck and welcome.

Hey guys, 10 days in and I can see plenty of mycelium growth on the sides, and I presume the inside, only a hardly noticable fluff on the top of the substrate still for some reason, and there's this blue/green stuff appearing all over, I presume it's mycelium bruising as it started out dark blue:

Anyone got any ideas how long it could be, and if I should be worried about that blue/green stuff? I cut 6 slits for FAE on each side after It was suggested, and kept the substrate misted, and the warmth in the room was good and I kept clean surfaces and hands. Dunno why they're taking so long. ^_^

That doesn’t look good at all. You may want to just start doing a PF tek or something. Grow kits are a rip off, at least when you make it yourself you know it was properly prepared rather than pay some guy to do it for you in a kit and find out a month later after paying him he was lazy.

Was the cake fully colonized before you cut slits in it? If not that may be the issue. If it was fully colonized before you cut the bag, then it was definitely the spawn used to make the kit

Sorry man... but I have to agree.
It looks like you have several different contaminations going on.
What looks to possibly be trichoderma and bacteria, and probably some other nasties as well.
Best to start over and do a PF-Tek to get a feel and visual of what's to be expected, then start learning agar. (It's easy) Check out the link in my signature...

Thanks, I will say though, that is a zoomed picture, only a part of one side, the rest of the sides are all white aside from substrate and bits of blue, that green was there before the slits but smaller, and dark blue, none of it seems to spread from where it originates either. The yellow and orange bits on there are bits of substrate up against the side. There's still nothing but a dusting of fluff on the top.
It can be a real trouble to properly see what's going on with the flourescent lighting and moisture and all, which is a pain. I'm fairly backed up with work until after Christmas now, and I'll leave this a while and see what it does if anything more, and after Christmas I'm definitely thinking PF tek, I already have the tubs for it at least.
I can see where the bit of animosity for these kits comes from, they're very unpredictable and stop/start 'ish, if you get what I mean. Seems more like corporate investment in a lack of customer knowledge if anything. o.o
Lot of experienced growers here however. ^_^

Not to beat you down but the zoom dosen't matter. The colors I'm seeing should not be present at any level of sight. I'm sure the guy didn't intentionally sell you a contaminated kit but that's definitely what that is.
Even pros get contam's sometimes. I'm sure these kits have a decent success rate but statistically speaking every single kit is not going to be uncontaminated.

Very strange, on the underside there is a huge patch of blue and a pathetic little grey black worm that looks like it could be a poor disheviled mushroom. O.o
Never looked on the bottom...
