pasty when you pack in your coir to be sterilized, how many tubs can you do in 1 pc cycle?  (10 quart jars)

I I can usually get close to twice as much sub in a jar if I really pack it in. So if your PC holds 10 quarts you can expect to get around 18 quarts worth of sub outta it. Then number of tubs that will do is dependent on how deep you like your subs to be and how much spawn you use.

hmmmm thanks, i'll give it a shot next time.  if i can really pack it in there, it sounds like i could get 2 tubs per pc cycle.

do you notice faster colonization and higher BE when sterilizing cvg?

Colonization is about the same but you will see better BE first flush with less in the later ones. This is how you make the most of a one flush wonder with coir.

Spindly miserable burmas that I did not take care of

5th oct

28th oct (3 weeks 2 days later)

This was from a jar where similar jars gave poor results. It was quite old colonised popcorn mixed with a little coir on 5th october, maybe only 50% volume coir to popcorn. I did not want to add more as it looked contaminated and I did not expect much. Other similar jars were cased on top and nothing came of them. The one pictured was not in a fruiting chamber, just in a 3.5L container with a single filter.

For the last week it got no misting, fanning or light and was about 26C.

I wonder if it will give a more reasonable second flush with better treatment. Another similar but smaller tray also has some shrooms now, it was barley cased on top with coir which I also have up hope on, it  was pretty dried out. The pictured one was not really cased, more mixed with coir with a very slight casing on top.

Close up of some fused caps on the left 12 hours later, they were fused earlier

Spindly stems with needle for scale

Very well/over misted as it was quite dried out looking.

Looks like you need to build a proper fruiting chamber. Is that a shoe box?

Cornmeal LI works like a charm! Hands down you can't beat the speed. 2nd to none as far as ease and use. slurry is faster, but you have to make pf jars.

I have other proper ones, this is just messing about seeing the minimal you can get by with. In the past it has proven fairly OK.

This is the same container from a grow about 10 years ago

Same current strain in a better FC is still proving very poor, starting on a new one now.
