What is going on with my Lions Mane? (fruiting advice)

Hi everyone,
I wondered if someone could tell from my images what stage my Lion's mane grow pots are at. I've read other posts on here but sometimes the image links are broken and its hard to tell from descriptions how colonised Lions mane needs to be before fruiting. I am also asking because the brief guide that came with these liquid spore starter kits estimated 4 weeks from very start to fruiting and it's been 2 months now and I'm still not sure these should be fruited any time soon?
Just to note my room is pretty much constant at 24 degrees C and I've kept these in the dark.
They were started about a week apart, and the first one (21st Aug - 9 weeks ago) I took off the tape that was covered 4 tiny holes in the lid after 2 or 3 weeks as I wasn't sure if anything was happening - it showed signs of 'hairy' mycelium but not any amount of white areas. Once I took the tape off things improved to where it is now:

The second one (26th Aug - 8 weeks ago), I only took the tape off a few days ago. It was more 'hairy' all over than the first one was when I took the tape off, but still no signs of white:

The guide stated that the tape should be removed after 3-10 days when fully white areas can be seen but almost 2 months seems like the guide is either wrong or I'm doing something wrong. But there's no signs of mould and it's hard to not follow the simple instructions in how to inoculate the substrate in the sealed pot and then leave it at the right temp.
Does anyone have any ideas on what these need? Is Lion's Mane this slow?

If I was you and didn't want to search more posts, then I'd just leave it in the dark a couple weeks and see if it turns all white, if it does it is working...and you'll need to search more posts about what to do to fruit it at that point. It might need air but lack of air now won't kill it fast, but id wait at least a week before unscrewing the lid at all. If it's growing id just wait with it in the dark. It should look like a pure white block when ready to fruit.

Lions mane often fruits well before it appears fully colonized. The mycelium growth can exhibit itself very faint and hard to see before thickening up or even just sprouting tiny colonies of primordia.
If that is clean hericium mycelium in the top container you should let it fruit. Could even remove the lid as long as you provide enough humidity, or stab a small 1/2 inch-ish hole in it. Any damaged sub should just repair itself and may jump start it to fruit.
IME lions mane can sometimes be finicky about wanting to fruit if its contaminated with bacteria.
Your bottom container looks fucked.

Thanks for the advice everyone.
- I used PF Teks from this place: http://shop.ukmushroomsupplies.com/
- I have searched A LOT for Lion's mane growing advice and situations on this board and elsewhere. It seems like I've read everything from it is a really tricky mushroom to grow, to it's not tricky at all. Some people (even in this thread) say it needs to be fully colonised and white and some say it doesn't and will fruit by itself before. So it's pretty confusing for beginners.
- The second tub is now rapidly growing clumps of white after I took it out of the dark and took the tape off. I think it will probably do better than the first one, which seems to have lots of white only on the top. This second one at least seems more even in it's distribution of mycelium.
- the guidebook told me to take it out of it's pot when white, but everything else (and common sense) seems to say to poke a hole in the tub, otherwise it will dry out.
Thanks for all the help - I think something should happen.
