Please help ident these shrooms, I have looked through a local book but still unsure. found along a wall growing in garden soil and leaf litter under some cherry trees that were overgrown and getting smothered with hops and nettles. Caps are 5-20 cm wide, fruits 10-20 cm tall. In northern Bulgaria KN33EV grid locator. Weather has just begun frost but warm sunny days. I have a few ideas from the Bulgarian ancient ident book but dont want to suggest at this point. Mycokey shows Pholiota highlandensis as the only photosimilarity. Here are some photos:

thanks for the fast reply, but can you give a percentage of certainty? they may go in the pot tonight! Also, what poison/non-edibles could these be misidentified as?

Don't take my word for it, wait for a TI before consuming. Take a spore print on tin foil it should be white.

I'm 100%, but I'm not a TI and I don't want responsibility for your safety.
There are a bunch of superficially similar dark spored (Gymnopilus, Pholiota, Galerina, Hypholoma...) and terrestrial (Tricholoma...) species, so definitely confirm that the spore print is white, and check that it's growing on wood (maybe buried). In North America, at least, these rule out most plausible lookalikes. You're left with things such as Flammulina and Omphalotus, which don't have the prominent cottony ring, and look rather different in pictures. I'd recommend confirming this with a source that knows European mushrooms better. If you're going to trust anyone on this site with what to eat, make it a TI. The gold standard is still to convince yourself, though.
Your particular Armillaria may be A. gallica/bulbosa, in which case it can appear terrestrial. More caution may be warranted in that case.

Definitely Armillaria.
The closest toxic lookalike is Omphalotus illudens.

Thanks everybody, great responses. We will be opting for sausage and cauliflower cheese tonight but will try google some recipes for armillaria for tomorrow. Will follow up with tasting report. Currently spore printing on a black cup, so hope to see a white print.

You can also use aluminum foil to reveal a white print. Enjoy...and don't forget to cook the crap out of them.
