A couple PMP construction/conditions questions

High! I'm new here and attempting my first grow. I built a PMP and just tonight got my cakes rolled and placed in it. I'm excited! I'm not sure about the exact conditions I'm trying to achieve in there tho.
First, is it possible for the humidity to be too high? My digital thermometer/hygrometer says it's 68F and 99% and there's condensation all over everything in there. That's good, right? I know the temp is a little low but I don't think it's too low, is it?
Second, I didn't drill any holes in the tub. It already has some holes in the handles, which are just big enough to run the air tubes thru, and the lid isn't airtight. I figured with a 20-60gal aquarium pump pumping air into a 13gal container that enough gas would exchange without any extra holes. Does that makes sense or should I go put some more holes in it?
Thanks in advance for any knowledge anyone wants to drop on me!

FAE is more important than relative humidity. Besides, you can always mist your cakes if they start to dry out. The problem with pmp's are that they don't allow enough FAE which can lead to unhealthy looking fruits and contamination problems. Cakes do best when fruited in a properly built shotgun fruiting chamber.

With constantly saturated air evaporation will not happen. Evaporation from the surface of the substrate is a pinning trigger. Often PMPs will saturate the air and substrate which inhibits pinning. PMPs are notorious for not providing enough fresh air which as mentioned above leads to sickly fruits, poor pinsets, and contam issues. Passive fruiting systems are far more forgiving than automated ones.

Wow. I wish I had known all this beforehand. The whole reason I did the PMP is that I was under the impression from reading around here that they provided more fresh air (due to the pump) and could left unattended for a few days. I thought the shotgun style was the outdated one. Damn.
So, more holes then? What if I took the top completely off?

you want to leave the top on it. read up on those links above and make it a sgfc to spec and it will save you a lot of headaches and for future reference when UTSF refine your search to include only posts from the last few years so you don't get outdated info don't get me wrong the old stuff can be good too but you need to take some advice with a grain of salt

The SGFC requires misting multiple times a day, doesn't it? I noticed in the videos when they built it they drilled holes in the bottom too so it obviously wouldn't hold any water. What happens if you have to be out of town for a few days?

you mist before you leave, and then when you come home. denying them the conditions they want is not a good option.

If you had to go for a few days just extend the consolidation time, and fruit when you get back . If you've already had a flush or 2, I guess you can leave it in the chamber, or just bury them in the backyard. Orrr hit up monotubs!!
